Pricing

Original Oil Painting using quality archival materials.

All paintings are supplied ready to hang on an unframed stretched cotton canvas.

Pricing does not include shipping. See Shipping and Returns page for pricing.

Quoted prices are for one pet per size.

Please Note:

  • An additional charge of $75 for each extra pet included in the one painting. Please note the size of the canvas will determine how many pets will fit in one painting. ie. 16 x 20 size will only fit one pet, 20 x 24 will only fit two pets. Email to discuss how many pets will fit on other sizes.

  • My recommended size for single pet portrait is 20 x 24 or 50.8cm x 60.96cm. This size fits nicely in most houses whilst still large enough to make be a statement piece.

  • Paintings are done with a simple background. If you would like a detailed background there will be an extra cost. Email to discuss this option.

Commissions Checklist

Reference Photos

  • High Resolution Photos - I am an artist who paints what I see, so high quality reference photos are important to ensure your pets details are properly captured.

  • Pets Pose - Try to capture an interesting position of your pet when taking your reference photo. If possible supply multiple reference photos and I will help work out which one will be best suited for a painting. When taking photos get down low to eye level. If your finding it hard to get a good photo take a video and we can capture a still shot from the video. Just make sure you use a high quality video setting.

  • Multiple Pets - If wanting to incorporate multiple pet photos into the one painting, ensure that the lighting source is coming from the same direction and that the poses are compatible together. Feel free to email me your images and I can assist you with this.

  • Lighting - Ensure that there is adequate lighting across your pets face with no dark shadows.

  • Copyright - As an artist I value copyright so please ensure that the photo you are supplying you have taken yourself. By supplying a photo you are agreeing that you have the right to use this photo.

Wall Placement

  • Size of Hanging Space - When deciding on a size of your painting take into account the size of the wall you will be displaying the painting both to ensure that it fits and also doesn’t look overcrowded or too small for the space. I can help you work out what size will best suit your wall and also your chosen reference photo.

  • Wall Colour - You don’t want your wall colour to clash with the painting. So it’s helpful to know your wall colour before I choose a background colour. The main thing is if it is a warm or cool colour. If you are buying as a gift for someone don’t worry this isn’t essential information.

How Long Until I Receive My Painting?

  • Painting Time - between 2 - 3 months (depending on current commission schedule).

  • Drying Time - it will take a few weeks from completion for the oil painting to be dry enough to ship.

  • Shipping Time - will be dependant on your location and is subject to the couriers schedule

Care of Your Artwork

Oil paintings usually take between 1 - 2 years to fully dry and cure however are usually touch dry within a few weeks.

  • Hanging & Storage - adequate airflow is required around painting at all times during the curing process. Do not place painted surface against any other object. Do not hang or store in direct sunlight. Canvas and supporting frame may warp over time if not stored correctly.

  • Varnishing - Varnishing oil paintings is not necessary however can provide extra protection. Due to the curing time my paintings are supplied unvarnished however it is a personal choice if you wish to varnish them after the recommended 1 - 2 year time frame has passed.
